Foreign Ministry spokesperson rejects claims of secret financial deal as “completely false”, saying such reports aim to damage Qatar’s reputation amid heightened regional tensions.
Qatar has categorically denied reports suggesting it held talks or made payments to Iran in exchange for stopping attacks on the Gulf state, describing the claims as entirely unfounded.
In a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari stated that there were “no discussions” whatsoever between Qatar and Iran regarding any financial arrangements to halt attacks.
“Any suggestions that such discussions took place are untrue,” Al-Ansari said. “Claims of a payment deal are completely false and appear to be aimed at targeting Qatar.”
He emphasised that Qatar is handling its security concerns exclusively through established diplomatic and security channels, particularly with its strategic partners-the United States and Pakistan.
“Our demands are being raised through these channels,” the spokesperson told reporters, adding that coordination with Washington and Islamabad remains at a high level.
