New Delhi issues fresh travel advisory amid fresh exchanges of fire between Tehran and Tel Aviv, joining several countries in calling for evacuation of nationals from the region.

The Indian government has issued an urgent advisory urging its citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately using all available means of transport, citing the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran reiterated on Monday that Indian nationals-including students, pilgrims, businesspersons, and tourists-should avoid all travel to Iran and exit “at the earliest” amid renewed hostilities between Israel and Iran.

The advisory comes hours after reports of fresh missile exchanges and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, raising fears of a wider regional conflict that could further destabilise West Asia.

“In view of the latest developments in the region, the Embassy reiterates its earlier advice to all Indian nationals to avoid any travel to Iran,” the embassy said in a statement. “Indian nationals presently in Iran are also advised to exit the country by available means of transport.”

India Warns Nationals:

The latest escalation follows a series of ballistic missile attacks and retaliatory strikes between the two longtime adversaries. Analysts warn that the situation remains highly volatile, with the risk of broader involvement from regional and international actors.

India, which maintains diplomatic and economic ties with both Iran and Israel, has adopted a cautious approach. The government has also issued similar advisories for citizens in Israel, asking them to remain vigilant and stay near designated shelters.

Officials estimate several thousand Indian nationals are currently in Iran, many of them students and traders. The embassy has asked them to register their details and remain in close contact with consular officials.

India Issues Fresh Iran Travel Warning:

India is among several countries that have updated their travel warnings for Iran in recent days. Western nations and some Gulf states have also urged their citizens to exercise extreme caution or depart the country.

The conflict has already disrupted air travel in the region, with several airlines cancelling or rerouting flights over Iranian and Israeli airspace.

As the situation evolves rapidly, the Indian government has said it is monitoring developments closely and stands ready to assist its citizens.
