Trump Threatens to ‘Massively Blow Up’ Iran’s Entire South Pars Gas Field if Tehran Attacks Qatar Again

President Trump warns Iran the US will “massively blow up” the entire South Pars gas field if Tehran attacks Qatar again, hours after Iranian missiles hit Ras Laffan LNG hub and Saudi sites. Oil markets on edge.

Trump’s Explosive Ultimatum:

President Donald Trump has issued one of the most explosive threats of the escalating Middle East conflict, warning Iran that any further assault on Qatar will trigger the total destruction of the South Pars gas field-the planet’s biggest natural gas reserve and a cornerstone of Tehran’s economy.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social late on March 18, 2026, the US president claimed America had no prior knowledge of Israel’s earlier strike on the field and declared Israel would launch no more attacks on it-unless Iran strikes Qatar again. In that case, he said, the United States would “massively blow up the entirety” of South Pars with a level of force Iran has never experienced.

The warning comes just hours after Iranian missiles slammed into Qatar’s Ras Laffan LNG hub and targeted Saudi energy sites, dramatically widening a war that now directly endangers global energy supplies.

Total Destruction of South Pars if Iran Strikes Qatar Again:

Trump’s exact words left little room for interpretation: “NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar-In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”

He added he does not want to authorise “this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran,” but made clear he “will not hesitate” if Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities are hit again.

South Pars Strike Ignites Gulf Energy War:

The threat caps a rapid 24-hour escalation that began with Israel’s strike on South Pars earlier on March 18-part of the broader US-Israeli campaign against Iran. Iran responded by firing missiles at Qatar’s flagship Ras Laffan complex (causing extensive damage and fires) and attempting strikes on Saudi gas infrastructure. Riyadh intercepted the incoming projectiles but reported debris injuries.

This is no ordinary energy dispute. Qatar’s North Field and Iran’s South Pars are the same massive offshore reservoir. The two nations have cooperated on development for decades despite political friction. That partnership is now collateral damage in a wider war that has already disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and sent energy prices soaring worldwide.

Qatar hosts the Al Udeid Air Base, home to around 10,000 US troops and critical command operations for the region. Protecting the emirate is therefore a direct US national-security priority.
